Nearly two years ago, Maintain Beauty Bar opened it's doors in Richmond Hill. With a mission to help women make their pinterest hair and makeup vision boards become a reality, MBB set out to combine a retail shopping environment with a hands-on education experience. Our events left the community buzzing for days on end with a new Girls' Night Out option through our DIY and Spa Parties.
Community support and increased brand awareness, along with our amazing team (aka work-family) helped MBB to continue on a path of success. In June, we were given the opportunity to expand our business into Savannah by purchasing an existing blowout bar, which we renamed "Hustle & Blow Dry Bar". This added service-based business in Savannah more than tripled our existing client reach. Our wedding business in both locations grew exponentially, and as a result we began to create meaningful, long-lasting partnerships with other business owners in the area.
Collaboration and cooperation were the driving factors for us to then start our on-line shopping experience via The Lily Collective. Because our clients were so busy managing their own personal lives, sometimes the only time to take for themselves was outside of our normal store hours. Being able to shop on-line while still keeping their dollars spent in a locally-owned business was a win for everyone.
With the rapid growth of Maintain Beauty Bar, the acquisition of Hustle & Blow Dry Bar, and the development of The Lily Collective, I was left with the feeling that there was still something greater to be done. Listening to client interactions and experiences, seeking areas of opportunity for long-term sustainability, and wanting to further collaborate with the brilliant community in which these businesses exist, I knew that we had merely just scratched the surface in everything that we could become.
To allow for this culmination of creativity and collaboration to take place, I also knew that it was time to simplify. Thus, as of December 24th, the brick and mortar location of Maintain Beauty Bar in Richmond Hill will be closing it's doors. The service and retail portion of MBB will be relocating to Hustle and Blow Dry Bar in Savannah. (On-site services and delivery will also be available for those located in the 31324).
By closing Maintain Beauty Bar, we will have the time to focus on the growth of The Lily Collective which will include event and wedding services (including planning, coordination, photography...and yes, more DIY and Spa Night Parties!). The Lily Collective will be a collection of professionals all under one 'virtual' roof. While The Lily Collective is still in it's early stages, more details will be coming within the first quarter of 2018.
At the forefront of everything that we do, creating a client experience that exceeds expectation is the number one goal. Stay up to date with our progress by visiting us at Hustle and Blow Dry Bar, or follow us on Instagram and Facebook. (check out @hustleandblowdrybar and @the_lilycollective on Instagram).
We are so very appreciative of everything that the Richmond Hill community has done for us. Your support is what has given us the opportunity to continue to grow. Although we will not have a physical location in Richmond Hill any longer, our services are still available. Book us to come on-site for a Girls' Night In or visit us at a Pop-Up Braid Bar. We look forward to having the opportunity to serve you in these expanded capacities in 2018!
